Hey Alex have you looked at how much it would cost to ship your bike?
I looked at doing that a couple of years ago & it was prohibitively expensive so I hired a bike(BMW F800) for about 100 euro a day which worked out cheaper.
I have a friend in the UK & says at the moment bikes are really cheap to buy & you could buy a bike such as a Honda Transalp or Suzuki GSX-R for under 2000 pounds (about 4 grand au).
I wont be going in 2021 but mabe 2022

I haven’t checked prices recently and you can hire some pretty good bikes for 100 euro per day and a lot won’t charge extra for ks on a 7 day hire ther are some pretty good bikes for a bit more I’ve hired a hypermotard,a superduke an Africa twin and an 1250 r on different trips and they’ve all been good fun.i would love to start at the coast and ride all of the passes between France and italy

I see a plan forming (Alex and Geoff).

We won't need to worry about asking Pete, cos they serve fish in the restaurants in Italy, and he wouldn't eat anything,  so he wouldn't go!

Surely gelato and pastries and cakes would overcome an aversion to fish

Only if the gelato was a Golden Gaytime, and if the pastries and cakes were all pink donuts!

Remember,  we are talking about Pete.
