I know it not a trail bike but I am restoring an old Honda CB 750/4 & the starter motor is stuffed.
I have cleaned it up & replaced the brushes, The armature appears to be ok & not shorted out but the field windings are another matter.
Does anybody know of a GOOD auto Electrician that could potentially rewind /repair the starter as it is surprisingly difficult to source a replacement for under about $400-$600
