The usual reason that they are hard to remove, is because they have seized in place due to lack of maintenance greasing.

Heat and lube, heat and lube, heat and lube...that's the only way!  And a bit of a tap with a hammer can also help, but obviously be careful of not damaging the thread.

Keep your panties on!

You'll be adequately compensated in the fullness of time.

Anyway, Pat and Daz (and I) have more of a steak in it than you have.  It's lived at our respective places since you picked it up.  In fact, it has never graced your abode, so with possession being 9/10ths of the law...

Progress!

I'm at (my self imposed) Stage 2:  SPRUNG FRAME.

Fork legs have been sand-blasted and re-painted.  Color is a bit deep, but I had the paint in stock and I must remember, "it's not a showroom piece",  "it's not a showroom piece",  "it's not a showroom piece"!

Headlight bracket was sources from the US and screwed into place, along with battery box, air box, inner rear guard and shock protector. rear sub-frame and rear guard, (and a few other bits).

In the mean time, I've been working on the wheels (polishing, plating and painting all the bits) and starting to clean and polish some plastics, all the while remembering,  "it's not a showroom piece",  "it's not a showroom piece",  "it's not a showroom piece"!

A combination of paint and plate to make to foot pegs look a bit pretty.

Thanks to Wade for his help.

No, not pivoting. Just rubber mounted.

...Well, perhaps better thought of as an ''extensive working collection'' rather than a museum.
