All this Japanese bike stuff at Harrow sounds great....as cute as Serge's PEs look,  but don't forget the Europeans/Spanish will be there! The old Ossa (oozing European style...and performance!) is primed and ready for another go. Looking forward to Harrow again, riding with Don and Steven Britt,  and catching up with Serge and co.

Kerry your Ossa Super Pioneer is about as beautiful a bike as you can get... wow! May your Femsatronic spark strongly all weekend and your Betor forks stay oil-tight! Those peaky Jap bikes can't compete! Cheers, Simon J.

Motoplat on those Ossas Simon. Pesky unreliable things that cost me months of apprentice wages!

Hah! You weren't the only one, Ian!  I bought a second hand Phantom in 1976, it would run for a few minutes (the length of my test ride) and then die as the ignition warmed up. Took a while to work out what was wrong - a new ignition system cost a couple of hundred dollars from Bob at Mooroolbark Motorcycles.  Always loved the Ossas. Cheers, Simon J.

My Mate had an Ossa & I had a Yamaha DT 250A (circa 1976) & we were always waiting for him as it ALWAYS had some issuue & I recon its ergonomics sucked it was a pig to ride

Peaky Jap bikes? Dafugu talking bout? Honda XR250's have tonnes of torque, massive top end power , quality brakes, fine handling and are reliable.

Thanks Simon for your positive comments...and to the pundits and doubting  Thomases...suck it up... the old Ossa ran all day!!!!!  Motoplat performed faultlessly, bog holes, crossing the Glenelg, o/night in rain in the parc  ferme (started 4th kick!) . Only hiccup was 10 mins lost sorting a dagged plug), and  3 loops out of 4 completed (at 64 and 11 months I know when i'm on a good thing!)
Rode with Don and Steven Britt in team SCAR.  Great riding each day,  my second Harrow and 1st anniversary of return to riding after a 37 year break... AND great weather both riding days...for Harrow anyway.  Harrow is a terrific weekend; old bikes, but not just fort old farts!
(some  actual  pics to come if I can sort out how and they upload!...rather than just as attachments)
