I'm firing up my old ride again in the Fryers Ranges near Chewton.
Saturday 16th May.
Arrive 9am,
About 80 to 90 km.
Lunch back at the cars.
It's stony to rocky dry forest country with lots of tight twisting and sometimes overgrown tracks.
Very hilly with some steep pinches and rock ledges.
It's not a constant work out though.
I wouid rate it as a challenging Level 2 ride due to the need to stay on your game.
There is nothing ridiculous.

Hope to see a few of you there.
It used to be a hugely popular ride.
More details on application.

The start point is 600m along Railway Dam Rd, which is on the south side of the Pyrenees Hwy east of Chewton.
If you're travelling up the Calder Freeway from Melbourne, take the exit to Castlemaine near Elphinstone, travel 3km to Railway Dam Rd. It's on the left as you travel down the hill. BEWARE. IT'S HARD TO SEE! Travel along it, over the railway bridge, 600m to an open area on the right where we'll park.
This Saturday. Aim for a 9am arrival.
Back to the cars for lunch.
Around 50km in the morning. Probably around 40 in the afternoon.
