I saw a video once showing a stream  of elephants coming out of the rocket as a way of showing fuel burn. So about three elephants per second, whatever that is in tons.

Jeff you guessed correctly at two, John Quincy Adams who was the 6th president of the US between 1825 - 1829. His Farther John Adams was the 2nd president between 1797 - 1801.

 Okay three Asian Elephants a second X 4 tons for each one then that gives 12 tons per second.
I'll give you that Damian :)

There are five F1 rocket engines that make up the Saturn 5 booster, each F1 engine burns 2.5 US tons (about .9 metric) per second of liquid oxygen and kero.

5 X 2.5 is close enough to 12!
