Hi all,

Hope all are well

My bike insurance is due for renewal next month.
Any recommendations as I'm with National Motorcycle Insurance (Zurich) and they have increased their rates compared to last year's premium even though they state I'm eligible to a 20% no claim discount.
With the lockdowns you'd expect insurance companies to adjust to a pro rata in line with the reduction of on road time. Maybe we need to reach 365 days of lockdown to qualify for a discount !

Any advice out there?

My KLR 650 is insured through RACV. Full comprehensive is only around $80 a year however I also insure both my daughters cars with them and have roadside assistance as well. (Roadside assistance was needed when I owned Range Rovers!!!)

To me it's a balance between cost and service.  You can pay little and not get much help when needed and also pay a lot and get little help when needed!

I have most of my vehicles with Shannons, and the rest with RACV.

My BMW is with Swan.  Given the coverage and service I got with them post accident,  I'll stick with them,  they were great.

My WRF was with Insuremyride,  but they were absorbed by Shannon's and were no good for my BM.

All my 'old' bikes are insured with Shannon's on a multi bike policy and that is a cracker of a deal!

I looked at changing to Shannon's for the 4 cars and bike I insure. They told my car is not eligible because I drive to work and I have my work tools in it  so, they lost 5 policies.

QBE. You really need to ring around. Shannons depends on who you talk to on the day.
