Len R's Chewton ride, that's near Castlemaine.

Saturday May 17th.

No big steep hills but there are hills and stuff that are good fun to ride around.

Anyway, you go off the Calder Hwy at the Elphinstone exit to Castlemaine and then about 3ks on the left is the spot. Len wanted us there about 9:00 for a 9:30 start I think, or was that 8:30 for a 9:00 a.m. start. Better get there early to be sure.

Think it was two loops so back at cars for lunch. But don't "quote" me on that.

I plan to go, and Nathan was a starter too.

Len's number was 0429 185 852 so call him if you want real details. Or I will see you there, probably Nathan too.
The older I get, the slower I was.

Chewton, Castlemaine Ride Saturday 17th May 2014   Level 2Something different. A ride through the open dry eucalypt forest in the historic gold miningarea of the Fryers Ranges. The tracks are often old, stony and winding.  It is hilly country but nothing verysteep.  Morning ride should be about 60kswith lunch back at the cars allowing time for a refuel.  Afternoon ride will be about another 40 or 50ks finishing about 4:30.Take the exit to Castlemaine at Elphinstone.  Drive 3 kilometres from the Calder Freewayexit; turn left onto Railway Dam Track just past Tunnel Hill Track.  It is hard to spot so slow down or you mayovershoot it.  Plan to arrive by at least 9 for a 9:30 start.  Allow 1hour travelling time to the start point from the city end of the Tullamarine
Tollway.
