Hi All,

I am a beginner Level 1 and want to go exploring in Bunyip state park near Gembrook cause it is near my house ;)
So I am putting it out there to see if anyone want to join me cause it is best not to do it alone.
The calendar is looking a bit skint for juniors.
Emphasis is exploring and building riding skills through clocking up some km's on the dirt.
Most likely you will need full rego as exploring will involve going on public roads.
More experienced riders are welcome so long as they are willing to go slow and let me follow their line.
If there is any interest, even one person give a post and we can arrange a time and place to meet.
This is not an official club ride just an informal post to find out if there is any interest.

Cheers
Alex

Well I am not one to sit about a wait for things to happen....
I was thinking next weekend say on Sunday morning.
That is the 2nd of March at 9.00 am meeting at the Gembrook Puffing Billy Station Car Park.
Bring as much petrol as you can cause I am planning on at least 100 km round trip easy ride as most of it will be dirt road.
Bring your own lunch and have breakfast cause there is virtually no shops in Gembrook.
Will try to find some interesting tracks down to the rivers, cause I like fishing and maybe up some of the hills if it is not too tough.
Looking on Google maps the place is riddled with tracks and interconnecting dirt roads for an easy out if someone has  a stack.
I will go out and scope the area this weekend, staying on the roads.
If anyone knows the park they can lead.
Post back if you want to get on the list of those who are going and I will contact via forum with my phone number and put you on the list.

Alex as said before, well done for stepping up so soon.
I can ride as I already riding at Glenaladale. But do yourself a favour and buy a copy of a roof top map for the area, you should be able to find everything your looking for and more.

Got a topographical map on the way, now all I have to do is dig out my compass.
Have fun in Glenaladale, read that ride is a 2+ I am calling 1-  ;) riders  or those that just want a tour.
Have experience in the bush should not get lost but looking at a map while on a bike will be a new experience.

Thanks Greg,
Used it today as I am waiting for a more complete map.
Went to the two bike unloading areas and did bits of the trails, spoke to some guys who knew the area.
Seems like the Blue Range and the the Gentle Annie loops are the go for guys like me.
There were some jumps pot holes and the like but the surface was generally good hard packed sand / clay and fairly level.
Looks like the parks maintain the tracks and they were all open and then some others not marked.
Reports are Robertson Creek track is steep there is some more advanced stuff on the northern side of Bunyip Rd that is not maintained.
Saw guys with rec rego they seemed to think it was OK to ride on the roads between tracks.
Still waiting for a taker........

How did u find Anderson's track (hill) was it slippery after last weeks rain? I found it great to learn some skills on and the washouts are great too for small jumps practicing,
