I have no certain reason why the ships were named after Ports.  Probably just recognition of the part they played in peoples daily lives.
And a bit o the far east.

Thanks Phil, you write them we'll read them.

I always think when I'm on that ship going down to the Apple Is that the only place I want to see of it is where you're not allowed. I see those doors with "crew only" and wonder what's behind them, very frustrating!

Thanks Phil, great to get behind the scenes (and doors)

A month to unload, did it always take that long or was it due to down under union power?
It's just more time to be flat out!

Google has closed their  Picasaweb program, so the link doesn't work.

Something to read instead!

Wow Phil, now that is an adventure story.

With grit, resourcefulness, fencing wire and love.

Well done and thanks for sharing.

Had to look on a map to find Collie Phil, looks like a nice place, even may have good dirt bike riding in the area.

Found this picture of a pub there, reminds me of my favorite pup, the Royal Hotel in Rainbow.

Wikipedia link for Collie  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Collie,_Western_Australia

I wonder how Collie got its name???

Was this your first big adventure on your own Phil? Do you think it set you on a course for life, the adventure thing?

Thanks Phil, i'm sure the full story could fill a book.

Now just imagine if you had the 7th Holden built and the 7th last Australian Commodore...Bookends!
