Howdy folks ;)
I was club member few years back,....great times out in the bush.
Recently had kids so had to put riding to the side for a bit.
For some reason Lockdown encouraged me to go and buy a 250f for some fun!
I know its been a weird time with restrictions and all, I'm wondering if rides like Cruisy Marysville (for example) are still something people enjoy? I'd pay a membership, just seeing if people are keen for that stuff.

Cheers folks

Hi Joe

It has been a while since I've seen you out and about - I guess having kids does that.

The Covid restrictions meant that rides were put on hold for a while.
Now that the restrictions have lifted, I'm also hopeful that there will be a few off-road rides being added to the calendar.

We will just have to wait and see...

What 250F did you get?
Did my old YZ find a good new home?

Hey Peter thanks for the reply, nice to hear from you! Hope your well.

Sadly the YZ 2stroke is in no longer in my care. We were buying a house at the time and needed the money. The only guy who responded beat me down to a stupid price. Classic ‘I should never have sold it honey’
I’ve made a shrine in the shed to her, a framed photo of me on the bike, taken in a wet gully up at Toolangi with your good self, Wade and Simon. Along with the last piston I pulled out. Incredible bike.....

As we settled in and money sorted itself out I found myself wandering into Frankston Yamaha........and wandering out with a brand new WR250f! Salesman’s dream.
Haven’t ridden it much. Looking forward to developing that relationship. It’s great so far,  push button start, sweet balance, suspension feel that I’m familiar with, heaps of power for me. Of course I barely touch the performance it’s capable of. Noticing I’ve slowed down a bit too.....
Few little niggles, it’s super jerky off idle so I’m clutching to the bee jeezus in anything tight. First to second gear frequently lands itself in neutral.....It’ll be so good on some fire trails type stuff though.

Last I heard you were moving house, how did that go?

Looking forward to riding with you again mate!

Cheers, Joe

Coastal living is very enjoyable, but I certainly miss having the acreage that I could test ride the bikes on.

Enjoy the 250F, and no doubt I'll see you around the trails sometime soon.

Welcome back Joe...don't worry we'll soon have you upsidedown in that wet gully at Toolangi! Looking forward to a ride soon. Cheers, Simon J.
