Hey Pat
How far does the bitumen go after Bruthen as I might ride my road bike as far as I can with you on the tar then turn around or go a different way?
Hey Ken did you go on your central Aust trip?
Cheers Geoff

Have a look at the route Geoff, looks to me like there is only one stretch of dirt that can't be bypassed. if it's dry it should be OK.

There were 5 in the starters blocks for the red centre but only 2 took off in the end. They did 8,900ks and had a ball. I got gazumped by a surprise property purchase with my Son that led to our house now being sold.

Looking at another attempt next March for anybody interested in visiting the Red Centre for 4-5 weeks.
It's just more time to be flat out!

You should be ok for the first day, the barry way has been done by road bikes. The second day you can by pass the dirt to Delegate. 3rd day dirt section can also be by passed. Better yet trade in the roadie for a adventure bike. Its the way of the future.

I've done barry's way, it's 50km from Buchan, it feels like you never get to the end of it, it's also quite rough in places, a lot of corners has big corrugations, it's good to do just so you can say that you have done it, I was on my KTM 1050 adventure, one bloke on a BMW 1000cc sports bike & a Triumph speed triple, & a Aprilia Motard.
Don't mess with old bikers, they don't just look crazy. :)

My first motor bike ride at the age 13, 58 years later I'm still riding.

Hey Pat count me in
Instead of using the road bike Im going to adventurize the berg  put the indicators & mirrors back on & buy some dot tires then trailer it down to Bruthen.
How far is it between fuel stops
Cheers Geoff

Hey Pat
according to google maps its only 220km from Bruthen to Jindabyne via the barry way so we can fuel up there.
is that 350km total distance for the day or have you got a different route planned to get to Jindabyne?
