"Naughty Old Suzuki" bits, love em.

The biggest packet I got had a Suzuki TR500 Mk3 production racer in it. It was held up in a strike on the wharf so I drove down with some paperwork that said it was my race bike that i needed to make a living from. (I was working at the Vic Suzuki importers at the time) It was amazing driving thru all the containers until they found the one with seven TR500's in. I was as chuffed as when I drove back thru the picket line with my NOS box on the trailer.
It's just more time to be flat out!

The problem with these restos, is that you never really finish them!  as you can see, I recently acquired a NOS case saver and sprocket guard for my PE250.  I fitted them yesterday.

The crank case has 4 mounting points

Mount 1 and 3 carry both the case saver and guard, while mount 2 only holds the guard and mount 4 only holds the case saver.  Mount 1 and 2 are complete and serviceable  Mount 4 had half the perch snapped off and mount 3 was virtually non existent.  Mount 4 had plenty of meat left at the base of it, so I drilled it a bit deeper and installed a helicoil, then bogged the missing half with some liquid steel.  It seemed to go quite hard, so I ground it back and fashioned an acceptable perch.

Mount 3 was lucky if it had half a thread, so I drilled it a little bit deeper (not as much room to play with here) and tapped a helicoil in here also.  Now all I need to do is fashion a long spacer to support the guard and saver and the jobs done!

Quite happy with the end result.

Good one you handy man you. Now all you need to do is carry all those tools in your bum bag - just in case :D :D

Don't think you'll have any trouble really.

$120.00 delivered.

Although part number was correct, this unit only had one multi-pin plug.  My original had two plugs.  One plug drove the indicator switch, while the other drove the headlight on/off and high/low beam and horn.  So I re-wired a plug for the indicator side and used the original wiring loom and switch contactors and put them in the new body.  It was a bit of mucking around, but end result is a new switch that works.
