In the time-honoured tradition established by Phil, here's the monthly Marysville ride - this one scheduled for August 13.

As usual, they  are run on the second Sunday of the month, and aim to cater for those riders that want a more leisurely day out, or are fairly new to the dirt-bike riding scene.

Be aware that the tracks are slippery at this time of year, so good tyres are a worthwhile investment!

Directions:
Take the Marysville road from Narbathong for exactly 2 km. 
Cross the Acheron river bridge and turn hard left down onto the river bank.  
8.30 am for 9.00 am start. Rec reg is ok. 
Allow fuel for about 100 km, and make sure you carry enough fluids to keep yourself hydrated too.

All welcome, nothing too hard, but hopefully we can find an 'optional' challenge or two for those that wish to give it a go.

We will have the usual stop by the creek for a BYO lunch, and to allow those with full reg to venture into Marysville to visit the bakery.

*NOTE: The car park is a CFA filling point and the turning circle needs to be kept clear.

Hey Flipper it's been a while since I've ridden the Marysville ride.

Can you please add my to the list.  Oh hang on, the list hasn't started yet  if excepted that should give me no 1 start, I like the no 1 displayed on my bike  

I just realized that on this day 24 years ago I lost my 2nd wife Molly off   5 years to breast cancer.

I'll still be there, I know she would wan't me to enjoy myself, in her last days she was more worried about me, then her dying from cancer, she was a in a million.

Sorry for going off topic, I just wanted to share this with you all.

Whats the go for this ride, I haven't been except yet & I don't see anyone else that has put their name down.

So is this ride still happening ?

For the most part, people don't seem to post their intentions to come along to this ride on the forum - I have no idea why that is the case...

There are times where I figured I would be riding the Marysville tracks by myself, only to have another dozen people turn up at the car park.

I don't particularly mind - the whole idea is that it is a laid-back ride. However, it would probably be better from an organisational perspective if people did let me know in advance.

I do recall Phil R saying that he didn't care if people let him know if they are coming or not, he said that he just goes to the meeting place & see then who has turned up, that's ok if that's the way he wants to do it when he was putting his rides on.

Being a ride leader myself, putting in the time to put on a ride I think it's only the right thing to do & show their appreciation to let us ride leader know that they would like to  come, it is also good for others to see who they are going to be riding with.

Giving the nature of my rides, I want to cap it at 10, how can I control that if nobody puts their name down, I put the numbers down from 1 to 10, the ride will be full when number 10 is reached.

With all my rides so far members have put their names down, I have seen names put down for the Marysville rides in the past, this time so far there hasn't been anyone put their name on the list,    that's why I asked if this ride is still on.

OK i will take the number 3 spot.
