Actually, the YZ250X and YZ250X1 model designation came out in 2008. This is the model advertised here.

Check any Yamaha online parts catalogues for 2008 if you need further proof...

However, I was wondering if anyone would pick up that the latest model was also called the YZ250X - guess Yamaha couldn't find any cooler letters to use :D
