Hello all,
I was a bit lazy with keeping up the contact during the last months since I went back to Germany. So I thought I´d say hello to all the people I met at AMTRA with a short ride report from an unofficial AMTRA-Ride through the Alps. Since we were only two riders and only one official AMTRA member and I did not post the ride announcement up front here on the website I would like to call it unofficial
. We also had to take the road bikes and stay on the roads since it is not so easy to ride offroad legally in the Alps. But I hope you will still enjoy the pictures and maybe we can organise an official AMTRA-Ride in the Alps someday with guests from Australia. I would be glad to act as the tour guide.
P.S.: The first Aussie was already here for a tour. A colleague from work visited me in Germany in June and also did a four day trip through the Alps.
We started In Ravensburg where I live and crossed through Austria and Liechtenstein into Switzerland. The first two pictures are from Albula pass at about 2300 m.
From there we crossed Bernina pass into Italy and stayed in Edolo over night.
We were lucky to catch the start of a vintage bike rally in Edolo the next morning. A lot of nice bikes there...
We headed back north over Gavia pass to Bormio at the beginning of Stelvio pass.
at Stelvio pass at around 2700 m I thought it was time to show the AMTRA flag
.
After Stelvio pass I stopped taking fotos. We took Reschen pass into Austria and drove north into southern Germany. Passing Lake Constance in late afternoon I was back in Ravensburg Sunday evening.
