Neerim South Trail Ride 6/7/19
What a perfect day for a ride 18degrees and sunny, it was my first trail ride in about 9mths and was nice to be back at Neerim and to find DEWLP has finally realised that it was better to reopen tracks rather than just have people making new access points, 2 tracks that have been closed for 3 or 4 years have been reopened and where as much fun to ride as they always where. The day flowed well with 3 or 4 short breaks and a lunch stop on the trail, the weather had brought out lots of bikes and a few hunters, Cassie had an issue in an overgrown plantation track when her foot hooked up in a downed branch pulling her off her back and hurting her left knee, with a great attitude she was up for more, after lunch Ben headed off home early and in a similar track Cassie got caught out crossing 2 small greasy trees close together this time landing heavily on her right knee to make a matching pair but this time it was much harder for her to be tough this one really hurt and she had trouble standing on it so it was decided to head back to the cars, we managed around 75klms of mainly open trails with some small technical sections added to keep us on our toes. Thank you to Hame for going tail all day and to those who came along and had fun.
