Great day for a ride and 13 other souls thought so as well. Arrived at the unloading point and stripped off in the chilly 8 degrees. After the formalities were over we headed north to pick up Phil's familiar route, please note it was just a little slippery at this stage. A new Husky 300 had a little trouble on the first of the steeper hills but with a little more air out and not hitting the band, he made it up with no probs. Group was moving along quite well at this point until Ian's KTM just stopped, we tried a few things (bush mechanic style) but still no go. We decided we weren't going to Kick Till Monday so we left Ian and would return later. More slippery tracks and Hills and stuff which led us back to Ian, hooked him up with a rope and as it was lunch time we rode down to the river and some had lunch. Some went into Marysville and Michael took Ian back to his car. Two others pulled the pin here and we are down to 11.
Lunch over and we headed to the south side of the main road TO SOME VERY SLIPPERY TRACKS MICHAEL THANK YOU VERY MUCH. Wow, two wheel slide, some 180's and even a 270 on the red ice, very impressive. We did find a pissa of a track over here which was very loamy, it went up and up but with a few having some problems the call was made to turn around and make a plan to attack it next time. A few of us made it up and later found an exit track, so next time we'll have a decent crack. The sun was starting to go down so we headed back to the north side to tackle a few more tracks before we finish up and what a cracker of an overgrown track we did. With a few tough spots we all made it and headed back to the cars.
Just on 90 ks on my brand new FE450, covered in Marysville's finest but no "offs" for the day.
It was a great day and everybody had smiles on their dials in the car park.
Well done Michael in taking over the reigns and making it a great day.
PS. Well done to the tailman, great job as always.
Cheers,
Lefty.
