Some of you may know that I had an operation on my hand just prior to Christmas. Turns out that I had torn a ligament off the bone on my right index finger. After years of pain, the doc decided to operate, so he cut me across the knuckle, cleaned up the bone and screwed the ligament back onto the bone. After the op, I had a bandage like a boxing glove!
While I had this bandage on, washing was a bit tricky, so I got in touch with Jackie (John T's missus) who runs a business called ProtectaCast. These little inventions are basically a reusable rubber glove that goes over your wound and keeps it dry when you shower. We bought one for our daughter years ago, when she broke her arm and she actually swam with it!

And now, six weeks later, the doc says everything is looking good and I can probably get back on the bike in a couple more weeks!
