With the AMTRA 50thAnniversary coming up and viewing a few of Ken Robinson’s old pics,  I was prompted to revisit the home archive and 500 odd Agfa/Kodak slides! So here we go....This article from the Australian Motorcycle News , June
1973, reports on the AMTRA Walhalla Enduro. The Walhalla Enduro was one of the club’s first with the ascent of Trig Track, an unrelenting, loose, rocky steep hill creating some havoc and an epic. (TrigTrack since realigned).  David Baxter in left pic at a checkpoint was a club stalwart and on right Lee Bradstreet, founding member, Club Captain, life member (and a bloody good rider!) are both riding Yamaha RT2 360s. John Burrows, mentioned in the text, went on to ride in the ISDT on an Ossa 250 SDR for a bronze medal in Dalton, Massachusetts in September that year. This was significant as it was, I believe, a first medal for an Australian at the ISDT. (There may have been another team/entrants in late 50’s...need to check).
ps My posting of images in the Forum is in early days, getting there, thanks Serge! (this one didn't scan that clearly)          To be continued, I hope!

Laurie Power crossing the Indi . (Bultaco Matador Mk6) at Tom Groggin, AMTRA Christmas camp (1975?)...rode out from Dart River at Nariel, over Mts Gibbo and Pinnibar and down into Tom Groggin.

Riding out of Wonnangatta Station up the original 'Wonnangatta Jeep Track'; steep, rocky and unrelenting.  Ossa 250 SDR -Six Days Replica. (Easter 1975?) Now recut/realigned as Zeka Creek Track.

Replica

Maybe someone who knows that area could re-create the course for a club ride sometime???

If any other club members have any old pics like these they would like to share with other members I would like to collect them so they can be kept together as a special area in our photo archives on the website, happy for you to PM me if they cant be easily downloaded to the website, with your help we could also get a bit of a slideshow together for the 50th next year.

I have stacks of photos from the 70's but all on slides and prints and I never get time to scan them.  I even have photos of Kerry when he was young.

"Why AMTRA?"...an article published in 'Trail and Track' magazine in 1973...possibly the first issue. 'Trail and Track' was the  Australian dirt bike magazine published thru to the 80s.
