MessageIan, Just a quick hello to the group from your contact in England. Geoff has been keeping me informed of what's happening over there and it seems you lot are going the same way as us with many now doing the big adventure rides. We have 4 groups off to Portugal, Spain, France and Italy this year, I am doing France and Spain, some 1500 miles in June on an '89 Aprilia Toureg Wind 600, an old Dakar type bike I've just put on the road. Membership of the TRF here hit 5000 members this year, it's gone bloody mad but it's great for the sport and the fighting fund! Please send on my regards to the group. I have now found a way to get guys rides if they come over, no good for Geoff but everyone else will get the benefit!
All the best,
Jim Cairnduff Wiltshire TRF group rep.

Ken I missed out because at the time I was there, I was going to ride one of Jim's bikes but his insurance policy wouldn't cover me & it seems that their insurance is like our TAC.  YOU MUST have it. Ours is included with our registration costs but theirs is seperate
If you ask a stupid question you are a fool for a second. If you don't ask any questions then you are a fool forever!!

Thanks Geoff.
So adventure bikes are taking off all over the place.
Going to be interesting to see how the HCA works out, good we hope.
They are doing some big rides over there, fancy having Europe at your door step.

Ken, it's OK having Europe on the door step but it's all black top riding, we are spoilt with the amount of public land and off road riding we have. AT THE MOMENT!! Cheers Colin

You should try some of the black top in "outback" Scotland Colin, I'm sure they just put the bitumin straight on top of the dirt.
Great fun in a hire car..:D

Yes we need to work hard to keep our trails open.
