Wow, what a rippa of a day. All went according to plan and with the sun shining we were on the bike at 10.30 along Cervi track to Merv Track where we did a little bit of overgrown stuff. Tracks were in pristine condition and heaps of traction. Mt Carmel Rd to have a look at the fire tower, they have done some control burn off here, then worked south to Sennis Track and into the maze of overgrown tracks which are fantastic. An hour and a half in here then through Caringal and Telecom track to the Erica bakehouse. They were out of salad so the lamb curry pie was the go, and free sauce.
The sun still shining we headed off to try what the locals call "Hollywood Hill" after coming through a small creek its a long greasy up Hill of .5 k. There hasn't been substantial rain up here for some time so it was a breeze. Bit of a play around the "C" area bit more narrow stuff then started back via the Koo Wee Rup MC Club area. Played in the maze of narrows again and met with a group of 5 riders. Had a chat (they were staying at the Rawson caravan park), and with Al Mason nowhere to be seen we moved on back towards Ti Tree Creek Rd. A few more Hill climbs and back to the car, via Merv Track, at 4.30 with 94 ks on the speedo.
As the clouds started to roll in and the temperature dropping we fired up the AU and headed home. Brilliant riding day and looking forward to doing it again soon.
The department of tree huggers have destroyed some of the tracks in here by bull dozing massive living trees all over the place. Shame on them.
