Right - it looks like you guys might have a serious cross-browser compatibility issue here.

I (and many others) still use Internet Explorer 8 as our web browsers, as it is the latest available to people running Windows XP.

I can use Firefox to make profile changes, but NOT IE8.

There may be a setting in the forum admin software to allow it to be compatible with IE8....

windows XP?? That's about 20 years old!

Still a very popular operating system, and website stats from sites that I ran showed that IE8 was the most common browser of choice 18 months ago (when I stopped doing web development).

About 40% of PCs that I work on these days are still using Windows XP, and many people are still using IE8 on Windows 7.

That's good info Pete, thanks.

I'll get Alex to investigate that one,

Good to see you got your avatar pic up though.

Now you're getting too technical, Pete!

Where were you when we were putting this whole thing together?  :)

I passed your concerns on.

On a lighter note, I see that 3 members have chosen to use an 'old bike' as their avatar pic.  Have we started something?

Well, I sort of gave the web development game away - I was doing business websites, which usually don't have forums attached.
I did consider putting my name forward to help, but was already over-committed to other tasks.

As far as the avatar goes, I don't have a lot of good photos of the YZ, so the TT got the nod (for now)

I never meant there there was anything wrong with it, it's much better than the pile of crap that came out after it.. As I said I am a simpleton and have no idea about all this computer stuff.

Nup, mine didn't work!

it's changed at the top of the page, but my posts are still coming out with the original pic!

Now it's worked!  I think you have to 'delete' your original pic, then add a new one!
