Ken, it has a radiator for the oil - does that count?
Anyway, my exact words were '
– yes, I’m moving to a modern(ish) 4 stroke…'
It does have pretty hi-tech suspension (both
high & low speed comp damping adjustment on the DRC coated
forks, which I hadn't seen before!) and is held together with a 3-piece composite frame.
Think - 'old school' engine meets light-weight, modern tech frame and ergonomics - Instant modern XR200
Will, I'm hoping it will be the perfect toy to do the tighter tracks with
, but still capable of reasonable speed in the open stuff.
Sadly, it is unlikely to be Rec registered and run-in before next weekend, so I'll still be using the little XR200 for Neerim.
Pat, when I saw the Extreme model in real life alongside the other versions, I couldn't pass it up.
In my view, the extra cost over the MX or PRO is justified by the upgrade in the overall component quality of the brakes, forks and controls
Of course you can have a play on it - it was your suggestion to look at these things after all.
